Many Chicago community-based organizations and health clinics give out free female condoms (FCs).  We suggest that you call or email someone at the organization or clinic to make sure they have FCs in stock, before you make the trip.  See the list of organizations and clinics below to find one near you.  You can also download a spreadsheet that contains the contact information and location for each organization and clinic.

You can also buy FCs at some drugstores and online.  Unfortunately, the new and improved second generation female condom (FC2) is not yet available in Chicago stores.  As of early March 2010, the only retail outlets that are selling FC2s are CVS stores in Washington, D.C.  We hope that with continued advocacy, drugstores in Chicago will start stocking the FC2 soon.

You can help with this effort!  Each time you go to your local Walgreens, CVS, or other neighborhood drugstore, ask the pharmacist if they stock the newest generation of the female condom, the FC2.  When they say no, ask why not? Then, tell them that women and men need access to all of the HIV, STI, and pregnancy prevention options available, including the newest female condom.  Urge them to start stocking FCs.
